We
are staging a colorful demonstration to let our Congressmembers
know that we want single-payer healthcare.
Single-payer
healthcare systems (as in Canada and Australia) are systems in
which care is based on need, not on ability to pay. No one is
left out.
Among
the demonstrators are artist-activists Dina Lydia of Citizen
Artiste and international bellydance star Delilah
of Visionary
Studios, famed in Seattle for her contingent of dazzling dancers
every year at the Solstice Parade. Code Pink members are joining
us.
This
demonstration is sponsored by Single
Payer Action, a national non-profit seeking to implement a single
payer health insurance system in the United States. Please sign
their petition! And see
the video.

basic facts here to hand out: Download Shake
It Up half-sheet flier (PDF, reduced at left)
We
know 7th District Rep. Jim McDermott is a longtime leader in health
care insurance reform, but other Washington Reps and Senators
- not so much.
We
invite you to join us as we use our talents to draw attention to
this important humanitarian issue and have fun! Wear a costume
and dance with us! (Guys too!)
